"Mirror, mirror on the wall." It's the infamous chant of the beautiful yet obsessed Evil Queen from the epic classic love story "Snow White". I've seen quite a number of "Snow White" movies such as "Mirror Mirror", "Snow White and The Huntsman" and maybe in the "Once Upon A Time" drama. The Evil Queen is so obsessed with her own beauty, which leads to killing and the actions of witchcraft. Well, interesting. Why I made this "Mirror, mirror on the wall" to be the title of this entry? Simple. Here's the explanations.
You see, I bought Marie Claire yesterday, with a reasonable price. Marie Claire Malaysia edition, provides you with lots of beauty, health and fashion tips you needed. Well, one of the reason I bought the magazine is just to fill my time, I just want to read some books before I go to bed. Usually I read novels, but I left some of my novels at my aunt's place and it's kind of troublesome to ask her to ditch the novels to me some other time. There is this one article in the magazine, which the author mentioned the infamous chant of the Evil Queen and linked it to the mirror-fasting, which now is the latest trend in the United States.
Mirror-fasting. I wonder if Asians do practice this kind of thing in their life? The reasons why this mirror-fasting thingy becomes the latest and famous trend in the United States nowadays is mainly because of it can boost one's confidence level and increase their self-esteem. Alright, that seems okay but seriously if anyone can do that, which is not impossible, I really respect you people because I don't think my life would be complete without mirrors. I even checked myself at the mirror without even noticing it sometimes. It's a habit, you know. Checking yourself at the mirror before you go to work for workers, or before you go to your class for students, or even before or during a date for girls and boys (Let's admit it, boys use mirrors too), before you go to bed or after you wake up from your sleep.
So, I think that if anyone want to practice this mirror-fasting in their life, it's not a big deal and it might be a good way to boost their confidence level. People have their own ways to deal with themselves, or with people around them. I think what's more important is how you see yourself. How you see yourself despite all the ugly nicknames people gave you is far more important. Believe me, every single one of us is beautiful and unique in our own way. No matter what size you are, how terrible is your hair today, believe me if you have a good mindset, everything seems beautiful. And believe me, you don't need mirror-fasting.
And oh, now I'm actually working for a new entry, I think it's a unique entry where I'll introduce my cousins to you people. And maybe in some other way, I'll be able introduce the Bisayan people to world outside? This thing is international, right? I don't think it's harmful for me to do so. Well, it's just for amusement. I really need new topics to talk about. For the new entry, "Cousins: Bisayan People Are Beautiful." is under construction by the way and might take quite some time. I need to download their photos and everything in order to make it happen. Alright, this is it. The end.
With love,
-EVA
